Founded almost 50 Years Ago 

Although Beachcomber Hot Tubs first opened its doors on Valentine’s Day in 1978 in the farming village of Surrey, B.C., the company’s roots reach back many years before, when Beachcomber cofounder Keith Scott began working for his family’s restaurant. Working beside his parents, Keith learned the value of good customer service in a truly tangible way. Those memories of working together to serve customers and provide a top-quality product formed the basis of Beachcomber Hot Tubs’ original vision, and today, those goals and values continue to drive the business forward. 

From Humble Garage to Global Leader 

In the early years, Keith Scott built handcrafted hot tubs alongside his wife, Judy, paying close attention to craftsmanship, service, and customer value. As the brand grew, Beachcomber introduced innovations such as external power systems that allowed for full-cavity insulation—a perk that boosted energy efficiency significantly.  

By 1996, the company had signed its first international distribution agreement and launched a website, stepping into the global market.  

Innovation & Energy-Smart Design in the 21st Century 

Beachcomber’s commitment to engineering innovation continued well beyond the origin years. In 1983, the move of power equipment outside the vessel created the “LEEP” models (Leaders in Energy Efficient Portables) and laid the groundwork for their Hybrid4 line.  

Today, Beachcomber Hot Tubs manufactures in its Surrey facility, serves retail partners across North America and Europe, and remains family-owned and operated.  

The Canadian brand’s global reach now spans over 40 countries, and its product range includes premium hot tubs, accessories, and advanced water-care systems.  

What’s New in 2025 

Since the 2010s, Beachcomber has ramped up its model offerings, emphasized smart connectivity, and introduced new finishes and customization options to meet modern outdoor-living demands. You’ll now find models with WiFi-enabled controls, energy-saving insulation upgrades, and premium design elements, all with the same handcrafted attention to detail.  

The brand’s global footprint continues to expand, and thanks to online ordering and fast-ship programs, Canadians can access upgrades and water-care accessories more quickly than ever.
